We’re looking forward to seeing you at our Heritage Open Days on Saturday 9th September and Sunday 10th September, 11am to 4pm.
New for 2023
We’ve been working hard all year, and have a host of new attractions to share with you.
Vivat, our working Coronation era outside broadcast truck, will be in the newly accessible Studio 1.
Our ABC Thames OB truck, freshly back from the mechanical workshop and the paint shop.
The Central Apparatus Room has been transformed and is now starting to receive equipment. It’s moving fast as we approach heritage open days.
Highlights from the recently donated Yaxley collection of public address equipment.
All the treasures we had on show last year will be there again, including:

Can you help?
We would love some help with our Heritage Open Days, both beforehand and on the days. We’ll need help with stewarding, preparation, signage and photography. If you can help with any of these please contact us at: this email address
Before the open days – help us with setting up
In the preceding week, especially Weds 6th to Fri 8th we would really appreciate help with setup. You don’t need specialist skills. Willing and energetic volunteers are welcome to help with shifting, cleaning and signage. Please let us know if you can help on any of the days.
On the open days themselves we will need stewards. If you like talking to people and especially if you have some knowledge of TV equipment and its use then please get in touch. You’ll need to arrive for a briefing at 10am on the day(s) you are helping. Don’t worry about being asked awkward questions, the trustees will be around to help.
Please take lots of photos and share them with us.
Would you like to be an official photographer, helping to give us a good record of the open days?
The Night Watch
Not Rembrandt’s famous painting! Would you like to camp on our site? We would love somebody to stay Friday, Saturday and Sunday night outside our building to keep an eye on things. If you would like to do this, in a tent, motorhome or caravan, please let us know. We can offer only very basic facilities – toilets and hot water (no showers though we have a very nice vintage fire hose).
