A major step forward was installing the power distribution panels.
The top panel is for “technical power” and contains the AVR (automatic voltage regulator) switching; a voltmeter which can monitor either the incoming mains or the regulated output from the AVR; two 30A current meters and two 30A switch-breakers. The outputs feed the two separate racks of equipment.
The bottom panel is for “non-technical power” (i.e. lighting, battery charging, heating and cooling) and is fed separately from the rear power input panel. This panel also has a selection of power sockets and facilities for routing DC power from one of the camera power supplies up to the bench for testing and maintenance of cameras and control units.
A period inspection lamp by “Dugdills” is fitted next to the panels.
